| Paints: Beginners supply: Cadmium Red Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue Burnt Sienna Ivory Black Titanium White other colors if you have them: Cobalt blue cerulean blue cad. Yellow light Aliziarin Crimson Burnt Umber *bring any usable supplies to the class. That includes paints, brushes and ect. I use mostly Liquitex (thick in tubes ) but Graham tubes and Golden tubes are also excellent. If you are buying for the first time you can get a good deal at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby or A.C.More with an online coupon. Mediums: You can get overwhelmed with these products. I will use Gesso clear base, Gloss, slow dry blending mediums. I suggest you purchase small bottles until you find out what you perfer. Brushes: You will need Flats, filberts and round brushes, all sizes large and small. Also a good liner brush and some small detail brushes. Just bring any brushes you have. If your just starting out get one large flat and one large filbert (arcylic soft) brushes and a couple of small inexpensive brushes. You can purchase some of the packages of brushes but remember those are not supposed to last for a long time. They are good to get started. Palette knife: for mixing and painting. A large and small is nice to have (no plastic) Palettes: You will need something to mix your paint on. I use a stay wet palette 12 x 16 because it has a lid and is easily transported. But you can use Plastic plates from Microwave dinners will work. Any plastic trays will to also. Canvas: I will state what size and type of Canvas I will be using to paint on. You can paint on any size if we are not using a pattern for the painting. Canvas can be stretched, Canvas board or Acrylic Paper palette of your choice. I usually use stretched Canvas. Water Containers: You need a container for your water. I use 2 containers one for first was (dirty) and one for 2nd wash (clean) Spray Bottle of water: small used to mist your paint if it is on a plain flat surface Easel: A table easel is fine. But if you have a stand up easel you can bring that to use. * also Paper towels, Apron or painting attire, hand lotion, acrylic tablet practice brush strokes on, and a snack if you like |
